Start of the application submission process in AlmaU for the exchange programs (Spring 2021-2022)

AlmaU announces the start of the application period for AlmaU students for the academic mobility programs (exchange programs) to study at partner universities in East Asia and Europe for the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year - financing of the program is at the expense of grants from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The internal competition-consideration of the candidates will be held in the format of an interview with the review commission in English.

Requirements:

  • to be a 2-3-year undergraduate student;
  • to have GPA not lower than 3.0; 
  • English language proficiency level - Upper-intermediate (B2)

List of required documents (click on the document name to download the form):

  1. Application;
  2. Questionnaire with photo 3*4 (according to the form in the attachment);
  3. Motivation letter in English;
  4. Transcript in English;  
  5. 2 letters of recommendation from AlmaU faculty in any form in English;
  6. A copy (scan) of the passport;
  7. If available: copies of IELTS, TOEFL certificates and other documents confirming extracurricular activities at the university;
  8. A copy of the individual student curriculum.

The deadline for submitting documents is September 17, 2021.

The results of the application process and review competition will be announced within 2 weeks after the competition.

In order to avoid unexpected refusals to participate in the exchange program, we recommend that all students familiarize themselves with the basic requirements, information about expenses, and also check the compliance of courses for offsetting before the start of the competition.

 Erasmus+ program grant for AlmaU undergraduate students

AlmaU competition for the Erasmus+ program scholarship for undergraduate students (Spring 2021-2022)

AlmaU announces the launch of the competition for AlmaU undergraduate students for an exchange program in the partner-university in Germany -  Hof University of Applied Sciences for the Sring Semester 2021-2022 – funding s provided by the Erasmus+program.  

1 scholarship place is allocated to the university in the amount of 5 070 euro for the whole study period (including travel expenses and a monthly stipend). Study at the host partner university is free of charge.

The internal competition will be held in the format of an interview with the competition commission in English.

Requirements:

  • to be a 2-3 year's undergraduate student; 
  • Program: Business, Computer science, Engineerng;
  • GPA not below 3.0;
  • English language proficiency – Upper-intermediate (В2)

List of required documents:

  3. Transcript in English;  
  4. 2 letters of recommendation from AlmaU faculty in any form in English;
  5. A copy (scan) of the passport;

General INformation

Kazakhstan joined the European Higher Education area in 2010. The implications are profound - the state and the universities will have to fundamentally change the way they conduct their business as the country adopts the three cycles of the Bologna Framework and the European Credit Transfer System - ECTS. A key objective of the Bologna process is that students can move between different universities and different countries, with their previous learning explicitly recognized in terms of learning level and the number of ЕСТ credits gained by previous study. Similarly, graduates can expect to see their qualifications recognised automatically across the European Higher Education Area and beyond, provided they were awarded by an accredited or recognized institution. The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) has begun the process of implementing the Bologna agenda but there's a long way to go before the new required approaches become a reality.(Martin O`Hara)

Almaty Management University’s students have the opportunity to take part in Academic Exchange Programs and Double Degree Programs offered by the University and study for one or two semesters at the International Partner University.

Decision on the selection of candidates is made by the Academic Board.

Selection criteria for those who want to study abroad as an Exchange Student:

  • Applicants must be 2nd or 3rd year students
  • Applicants must not have any missed assignments and financial debts at the time of application
  • Applicants’ GPA should not be lower than 3,0 over a period of study
  • Applicants should actively take part in the social life of the university

List of required documents for participation in the selection process:

  • Academic transcript

  • Letter of Motivation
  • Certificate confirming a knowledge of the relevant Foreign Language (if available)
  • Letters of recognition, certificates of participation, etc. (confirming achievements in academic competitions, participation in scientific conferences, etc., if available) over a period of study at the university.
