On the market is restlessly, and the number of vacancies on the most popular portals for recruitment is growing significantly slower than the number of publishing resumes. In such a situation it is not so easy especially for students of graduation year of Kazakhstan universities, who will soon face the question of choosing workplace. However, now lots of universities possess career centers and companies which care about building brand image continue to work with student trying to familiarize with the new forms of interaction with them. So, in “Phillip Morris Kazakhstan” firstly held “Open doors day”, in frames of which the most active mature students of the best Almaty universities had a chance to spend a day within the company.

 “We’ve already faced the issue when some employers started to provide students paid internships really seldom and offer less free vacancies, - notes specialist of Center of career planning and alumni relations of Almaty Management University Raushan Sarieva, - But, fortunately, it touches not everyone. The hugest advanced employers don’t decrease their activity in cooperation with universities. For instance, together with representatives of other universities, our students took part in event “Open doors day” in “Phillip Morris Kazakhstan”. They spent very productive and informative day, during which they met different functions, visited manufacturing, talked to employees and first of all plunged into the atmosphere of the company. This is really effective form of interaction between employers and students, since I saw that eyes of the students were full of fire and they were really interested”.

 “Phillip Morris Kazakhstan” offers to students two types of paid internships – “Project internship” with the duration of 6-8 moths for graduate students and “Temporary work for students” on the summer period, oriented on 2-5 year students. Both programs assume real work in different departments of company and allow to receive experience in the international structure where all the processes are lined up, structured and are based on advanced technologies and world trends.

 “In our university practically all the students would like to work in foreign, international companies, since our language of study allows us, in addition such companies have high corporate culture and provide good experience which consequently can be applied to Kazakhstan companies – explained 4th year student (economics) of KIMEP Dinara Temirbekova. – “Open Doors day” in “Phillip Morris Kazakhstan” showed that this company is a good example of Kazakhstan employer who is a part of huge international structure and offers its employees high standards and excellent working conditions. These are wide opportunities for education and growth and social pack, which includes food, transportation, medical services, different compensations and even décor itself, design of office and production rooms. Here are many details, which all together make very pleasant impression”.

As the advantages students noted specific approach of the company to the safety of labor, to effectiveness of production and also opportunity to get working experience in branches of the company all over the world and perspectives of growth as in frames of chosen function, so out of them at the expense of cross-functional movements from unit to unit. “Until this “Open doors day” I didn’t even think about working in “Phillip Morris Kazakhstan”, but here I saw so much advantages and opportunities, I really liked the atmosphere in the company, professionals, sincerely “rooting” and caring about their business that now I seriously take into consideration this idea”, - shared her impressions 3rd year student (finance) of KIMEP university Assylzhan Sadir.

As director for personnel management of the company “Phillip Morris Kazakhstan” Sara Dzhavlalova noted, it is always not so easy to choose working place without previous experience, so at “Open Doors Day” company tried to familiarize students with the principles of working process of its business, to show how different functions interact in single huge organism and how they work on common result. “When we talk about image of employer, for us it is first of all touches question of making candidates know about our values, to show how we work and tell what they are able to gain here. I think, in frames of “Open Doors Day” we achieved that, and it was useful both for students and us”, - counts Sara Dzhavlalova.
