Kazakhstan Students Participated in «Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019»
AlmaU and Al-Farabi KazNU students participated in «Joint HumanitarianEntrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019».
Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019 is a program jointly organized by Lingnan University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, aimed to raise awareness of youth and understanding of sustainable development goals of the United Nations. In the course of the summer school, attention was also focused on work with the population and humanitarian activities.
To develop an exciting program, the second summer academy of Lingnan University entered into partnership with several other universities, and local partners. This year university - partner was Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Students from all over the world, including Kazakhstan, take part in “Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2019”. Among them there are 3 students from AlmaU and 7 students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The work of the summer academy began in Hong Kong from June 2 to 15, and from June 16 to 29 continues in Almaty (Kazakhstan). As part of the program, students will have to go through field research in Kazakhstan. In addition to field research, training is based on Almaty Management University (AlmaU) for several days.
In 2018, Service Learning Office and Lingnan Entrepreneurial Initiative at Lingnan University, Hong Kong, initiated the first Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy. The idea of creating an academy came due to the fact that most of studies at universities take place in isolation - on campuses. Students are offered courses covering programs that are trying to work with the communities, but taking into account the apparent lack of interaction between the structured course and the student community, a summer academy of humanitarian entrepreneurship was created for students. As you know, for the first time the summer academy was organized by Lingnan University in partnership with Beijing University of Education (Beijing, PRC), Xihua University (Chengdu, PRC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
